Create a Custom Submittal Stamp

There are several options for creating a custom submittal stamp in ConstructEx.

To create a custom submittal stamp by scanning in stamp

The simplest method for creating a  submittal stamp is to scan a printed version of your stamp and save it as a JPG file. It is recommended to scan the stamp at 150-200 dpi (resolution).

Once the stamp is scanned, crop the JPG to just show your stamp.

To create a custom submittal stamp with Microsoft Paint

Open a new window in MS Paint. 400 pixels wide by 300 pixels high is a good size. Don’t make the image too large or it increases the submittal size.

Use the text and line tools to insert the text and border.

Save the image as a PNG or JPG file. Save it in an accessible place so it can be used with the built-in markup tools.

To create a translucent submittal stamp with Photoshop

Only use this method if you are familiar with graphics software such as Photoshop.

Use the PNG file type to create a translucent electronic submittal stamp.

Begin by creating your stamp in Adobe Photoshop or a similar graphics program.

Create one layer with your stamp text.

Create a second layer as the background and use the paint bucket tool to fill the layer white.

Set the opacity of the second layer to between 50% and 75%.

From the File menu, select Save for Web.

Change the file type to PNG-24.

Save the file to an accessible place on your computer or internal server so it can be shared with other internal users.
