Why Can’t I See Others’ Markups?

There are several reasons you may not see other users’ markups:

When a submittal is being reviewed, markups can only be viewed using the Add Markups button. Opening the original PDF does not display the markups. This is done so the reviewers can make edits to the markups. Once the markups are flattened into the PDF they cannot be edited.

Markups are considered in an active state for the construction team when the document is in a Draft state. Once the document is issued by the construction team to the design team, the construction team markups are flattened into the PDF and cannot be edited.

Markups are considered in an active state for the design team when the document is in an Open state. Once the document is returned by the design team to the construction team, the design team markups are flattened into the PDF and cannot be edited.

Comments remain active until the document is issued or returned to enable the construction or design team leader to review all comments and allow them to ask that erroneous comments be removed before they become a permanent part of the document.
